It is used in applications such as ground injection, water-stopping curtain grouting, waterproofing of tunnel and metro structures, basement crack injection and rock consolidation.
The time is set by the G202 initiator dose: 0.15% ≈ 11 minutes (deep spread in hairline cracks), 0.50% ≈ 3.5 minutes (standard crack injection), 1.0% ≈ 1.7 minutes (medium-flow leak), 2.0% ≈ 1 minute (high-flow leak), 4.0% ≈ 35 seconds (pressurised active leak). The G201 accelerator is used at 5% – 10% on the resin side. The reaction speeds up as the temperature rises; always run a trial mix in a plastic cup on site first.
Acrylic gel injection has a lower viscosity than polyurethane injection and can penetrate finer cracks. The gel swells as it absorbs water; when the water level drops it releases some of it, but its high water-retention capacity means it does not crack easily. Its capacity to form water-stopping curtains is higher.
